Metamorphosis on the Mountain
LUKE 9:28-36
Transformation
brings change. Although both
transformation and change are necessary for
growth to new life, individuals and communities
of faith often resist change. Like the disciples
on the mountain, we may find change
a terrifying experience. At some level we
know that transformational change leads to
new life, but we are afraid or uncertain.
An important aspect of any congregation,
though particularly interim ministry, revolves
around introducing change and helping a
congregation to experience transformation in
positive and joyful ways. The community is
transfigured, changed, as metamorphosis
brings new life.
